What happens now? Sorting out your Gas Safe certificate and warranty registration
Once your new boiler installation is complete and you are happy with the work carried out, you will need to have your boiler registered with the manufacturer to begin the warranty period and also the boiler will need to be registered with Gas Safe, the industry body for gas safety and standards. You boiler installation company should register the boiler for you once installation is complete. You should not need to do anything to make this happen.
Between 1 and 3 weeks after the installation you will receive the building regulations compliance certificate, confirming that your installation was completed by a gas safe registered company. If you don’t receive the letter you should contact your installer in the first instance to ensure the boiler was registered. If the boiler has been registered yet you still haven’t received your paperwork, then the installer will make further contact with gas safe on your behalf.
Please do this within the first 3 months of your installation!
If you ignore this process and have to request duplicate copies of your certification then you are liable for costs incurred to send these documents.
Keep your documents safe with all of your other house documents and again give it around a month to arrive.
What does a gas safe building regulations certificate look like?
The gas safe building regulations certificates are, to be honest, incredibly hard to miss! They arrive in a very non secretive big yellow envelope and will be branded with the Gas Safe logo! The images below show the appearance of these documents so look out for them!
Warranty / Guarantee Registration
Just like your boiler installation, warranty registration can be left to the professionals. We will send your registration once the final payment for installation has been made. This is a painless and seamless procedure and just makes sure your new boiler is registered and the warranty period has begun.
You will get confirmation via email or letter depending on the manufacturers but please leave it around a month after making the final payment before chasing it up if you haven’t received anything to confirm your warranty registration.
